Here is the twenty-eighth of the Church Wardens’ messages to the Parish:
First of all, the good news is that the vacant post of Rector for our two churches has been advertised. Please do not expect to hear very much in the near future, as the process of appointing a new priest can be lengthy and will remain confidential until an announcement can be made. Do keep those charged with finding our next priest in your prayers.
Recently, the church donated £500 to the Cuckfield and Lindfield Rotary Club to assist in their fund-raising activities through our monthly charitable collections. In past years, the church has raised many thousands of pounds for the Club through supporting their Rotary annual darts competition that has had unfortunately to be cancelled because of the Covid pandemic. The Rotary Club of Cuckfield and Lindfield supports many local and international charities that range from paying the wages of a teacher in Haiti, contributing to our local hospices, and, more locally, to paying towards the expenses of Family Support Work and the Haywards Heath Food Bank. More information about the Club, which a number of our congregation belong to, can be found on their informative website www.rotarycl.org
along with information about meetings and membership.
We still await news from the Diocese as to when work on St Wilfrid’s Tower can begin. Hopefully, it will not be long now and, as soon as we have news, we will let everyone know. If you heard our church bells ringing strangely early this morning this it was because our Carillon was receiving minor attention and our two service bells routine maintenance. I hope some of you living nearby were not woken up too early!
We hope that you have seen our churchyard at St Wilfrid’s recently as it slowly morphs into a wild-flower meadow. The joy it brings to all who pass through must be celebrated and our thanks go to all those who help keep both our churchyards spick and span.
As always, we hope to see you again for this Sunday’s 9.00am Eucharist in St Wilfrid’s (also streamed on our Facebook videos” page – link below) or at our 10.30am Eucharist in the Presentation Church. Father John will be presiding at both. Additionally, the mid-week Wednesday Eucharist will continue, as present, to be ZOOMed using our normal link (see below) at 9.30am followed by our on-line coffee get-togethers. Most of our services are also available recorded online on our Facebook videos page. Here are the Zoom and Facebook links that you’ll need:

Finally, Derek must apologise for dropping his iPhone at the end of the streamed service last Sunday, cutting off Nic’s organ voluntary. We are pleased to report the iPhone was not damaged, unlike Derek’s pride!
