Here is the sixteenth of our Church Wardens’ messages to the Parish:
You will be sad to learn this week that two members of our congregations, John Crane and Michael Chester, have passed away following their recent illnesses. A number of local friends, Father Martin, the past RC priest, and local residents Vivian White and Shirley Dorman, have also sadly passed. May they rest in peace and rise in glory. Please keep the families of these people in your thoughts and prayers. We will let you know of any funeral arrangements but unfortunately numbers in churches are limited by law to only thirty people.
On a happier note it was again good to meet up with some of you at this week’s Wednesday Wardens’ ZOOM meeting. Similarly, some of you were able to join our Wednesday Eucharist (also on ZOOM). Despite a few ‘teething’ problems we were pleased that Father John’s Eucharist now allowed more participation. We are exploring further ways in which we can utilise ZOOM for our on-line services as the present restrictions may well be with us for some time. More about this next week.
We hope you will join us for next week’s social ‘get-together’ over a cup of coffee!
Here is next week’s ZOOM link (the same as last week) when we hope you can join us:
The Wardens’ Zoom Meeting – Time: Wednesday 10 February 2021 10.15am until 11.00am. Clickable Link:
Meeting ID: 308 355 9074 Passcode: Keepsafe
As last Wednesday, please note that these ZOOM instructions can also be used, a little earlier, to join our Wednesday morning Eucharist at 9.30am.
Although the church remains closed the churchyard is not, and we would like to thank the ‘elves’ who work so hard to ‘magically’ collect and dispose of litter and debris. Likewise, we would like to record our thanks to our Treasurer and our Secretary who have also not ‘hibernated’! They continue to prepare various detailed reports for the Diocese and to deal with the many administrative tasks on our behalf. For example, you can continue to make your weekly gifts and if you post them in the Parish Office our Treasurer and Secretary will continue to collect and bank them.
We hope that you agree with us that our church life is continuing as best it can during the vacancy and in spite of all the restrictions and the closure of our buildings. Thank you to all of you for your help and support and prayers. You can always contact us via email email@example.com about any matter or to enquire about baptisms, weddings or funerals. You can also find other information and church news on our website www.stwilfridshaywardsheath.org.uk
We hope that soon all of us will have taken up any offers of a vaccination and that all of you, your families and friends, stay well.
Keep Safe and God Bless,
Arthur and Derek
