Sadly, we will not be able to gather together as a parish this year for one of our favourite services in the Church of the Presentation to celebrate its patronal festival and the feast of Candlemas. We will, of course be able to celebrate on-line and we all pray that we will be able to meet together in both our churches sometime soon.

The children of St Wilfrid’s School will be told about the festival of the Presentation and why the church is so called in their weekly assembly on Wednesday. With them let us all share in the celebration of the gift of a baby to God in the Temple and as we thank God for his ‘present’ to us all.

You can keep up to date with all the church news on our website: www.stwilfridshaywardsheath.org.uk

Notices are published as usual on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Melvyn sends out weekly emails which include useful news for all of us. If you know of anyone who would be interested in receiving this weekly email if you let us know we will add them to our mailing list and they do not need to be members of our church to receive these postings.  We are extremely grateful to Melvyn for his regular telephone contact with those who do not have internet connections. While our churches remain closed Social Media and old-fashioned means of communication are so important in ensuring that people know that our churches are still there for everyone.

Please keep safe and so not forget distancing, face masks and hand washing!  We will catch up with you again next week. In the meantime we are delighted to learn that many of you have already received your ‘jabs’ and hope that it isn’t too long before all of us can feel a little safer!

God Bless

Arthur and Derek
